iPad over laptop: Pros and Cons

|

Are you torn between iPad and laptop- what should you buy for maximum use, including pros and cons of each? Every year, iPads get increasingly powerful. iPad may be a portable device that can perform all laptop functions. However, there are still instances where a laptop might be preferable, such as while performing graphics-intensive tasks or playing high-end video games. In case you are thinking of purchasing any of the two sooner than later, then, we have compiled some references for you to ponder on.

Pros:

1. The iPad is smaller and lighter compared to laptop, which makes it easier to carry around.

2. Even though laptops support eBooks and PDFs, reading them on an iPad feels more natural because you can hold the device like a real book because on an iPad, the default view is portrait, as opposed to landscape on a laptop, allowing you to see the entire page without having to zoom in to read the content.

3. iPads have touchscreen capabilities and support for Apple pencil. Although, there are laptops with touch screens, but they won’t be as user-friendly as those on Apple’s tablet. Additionally, if you sketch a lot, using an iPad will be simpler because you can lay the entire tablet flat on the desk and start doodling.

4. The iPad is particularly best for students who prefer handwriting over typing out their notes. For taking notes, there are many note-taking apps available on the App Store, including GoodNotes, Notability, and OneNote.

5. You may also want to consider connectivity because you’ll need to be able to access the internet no matter where you are. This is made feasible by the iPad’s SIM compatibility, which is something that the majority of laptops lack. As a result, you won’t need to enable mobile hotspots on your phone to browse the internet because the iPad can connect straight to data.

2. It is preferable to use a laptop if you plan to store more files on your device. However, if you want to keep additional files, you can always choose an external storage device. Just make sure you have a USB-C to USB-A adaptor on available.

3. Even if iPad has many apps for common computing functions, such as Microsoft Office and Google apps, laptops still have more capability. The only way to effectively utilize intensive programs like Photoshop and other specialized software is on device like a laptop.

4. The iPad doesn’t have fans like a laptop, so it will get heated while you’re multitasking.

5. Using a laptop makes switching between tasks simpler because you only need to click the icon rather than accessing the multitasking panel or returning to the Home page.
