The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) officially released a statement as regards the full implementation of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) compliance. Stated in the Republic Act No. 10912, the CPD units requirement is mandatory for all professionals prior to them being able to renew their licenses. The true question for them now is – How can I earn CPD units?
First and foremost, what are CPD units? This CPD actually refers to the process of instilling or impressing advanced knowledge, ethical values, and skills in a specific field of study or profession for life-long learning. Before we go ahead to the topic of how you can earn CPD units, let me first give you the required credit units (cu) per profession every three (3) years:

Listed above are the required number of units per profession. Aside from this, there also were amendments to this update and some relevant were:
- Every Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) shall create CPD Council composed of Chairperson and 2 members.
- CPD Council accredits Local CPD Providers (Individual/Sole Proprietor, Firm/Partnership/Corporation, or Government Institutions/Agencies) and Foreign CPD Providers.
- Registered and licensed professionals shall complete the required CPD units every three years.
Some professionals imposed a negative reaction regarding this change for they saw it as a somewhat burden that would add up to what they are doing. Some were ecstatic for they have this mindset that they would drastically improve in their field because of the exposure and the skillset training they are going to have.
PRC has updated their website regarding this change. They included links for the CPD, CPD Councils, Accredited Programs, etc. This is a new update and this is somewhat of a big deal for it is a part of careers and professionalisms of Filipinos so if you notice that some links in the website are not working,
So now, how can you earn CPD units?
