Licensure Examination for Teachers Schedule (LET) 2017

Just last month, takers of the PRC Exam Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) has been released and is announced to be held early this year.  In a previous post which dictated the schedule for PRC Examinations, we included the examination for Professional Teachers.  In this article, we will have a deeper look at what this exam is all about in detail such as deadline of filing, application requirements, and schedule of application.


To cut things short, the next PRC board examination for teachers will be held on the 26th of March 2017, Sunday, at testing centers in Antique, Bacolod, Laoag, Manila, Pangasinan, Zamboanga, and regional offices all around the country.

Applicants can have their applications processed through selected locations nationwide:  SM Malls and Robinson’s Malls.  It is also advised that applicants submit their applications Online.


General Qualifications

  • The applicant must be at least 18 years old
  • The applicant must be of good moral character and good moral reputation with moral values who has never been convicted  by final judgment of court for an offense involving moral turptitude.
  • Must be a Graduate or a Holder of a Degree from a school, college or university duly recognized by the government.
  • As said in RA 7836 as amended by RA 9293, the applicant must be a citizen of the Philippines or an alien whose country has reciprocity with the Philippines

Requirements

  • Original and Photocopy of Transcript of Records (TOR) with Special Order (SO), date of graduation, and seal of the school.
  • Original and Photocopy of NSO/PSA Authenticated Birth Certificate (at least 2 photocopies)
  • Metered Documentary Stamps
  • Community Tax Certificate/Cedula
  • Four (4) Passport-sized colored photos with complete name printed/written at the back
  • Examination fee = P900.00

Examination Repeater Requirements

  • Original and Photocopy of Transcript of Records (TOR) with Special Order (SO), date of graduation, and seal of the school.
  • Original and Photocopy of NSO Authenticated Birth Certificate (at least 2 photocopies)

Removal (Additional Requirements)

  • Educational Qualification / Training / Experience and Certifications to be attached
  • For Teachers in Preschool: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (BECED) or its equivalent
  • For Teachers in Elementary Grade: BSEED or its equivalent
  • For Teachers in Secondary Grade: Bachelor’s degree in education or its equivalent with a major and minor and the degrees which shall be considered equivalent must have to take at least 18 units in Professional Education, or a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences with at least ten units in professional education .
  • For Teachers in vocational and two-year technical course: Bachelor’s degree in the field of specialization or its equivalent with at least 18 units in professional education.

You may be asking, can I take the LET even if I am outside the country?  Yes.  Overseas applicants became possible a few years back when the PRC board decided to give OFWs or people who are overseas a chance to take professional examinations.  There are a few places where you can take the exam outside the Philippines.  You can refer to this page here to thorough check about taking the exam outside the country.
